Pre-Primary News
Dear Parents,

The end of our year is quickly approaching, and our final projects are almost complete.  While friends continue to use the works in the classroom, many are beginning to talk about being in Primary next year.  They are realizing that the end of our year together is coming to a close.
Friends have enjoyed making their Father’s Day presents this week (but we will ask you to remain in suspense for a week longer). We have reintroduced our popular shaving cream work to much excitement. In this work, children enjoy the sensory experience of spreading colored shaving cream on a tray.  This work is extremely relaxing and includes elements of texture, temperature and color. The students enjoy the sensation of having the shaving cream on their hands (and sometimes their arms as well!)The notion of reading holds new fascination for many, and just this week a number of students have “read” stories to their friends at circle. We are looking forward to including some “read-aloud” at our Pre-Primary End of Year Celebration. We hope to see you all there: Thursday, June 17, 9:15 a.m. (Please gather in the lobby at about 9:10.)

Wishing you all a peaceful and restful Shabbat,
Morah Sareet & Morah Yael

The Primary children are busy as the school year comes to a close.  Many of them sense that the opportunity for lessons is coming to an end and are trying to pack in as many as possible.  Popular activities are Hebrew sounds, the 100 board and decimal cards with golden beads.  We also began work on our Father’s Day presents.  The gifts are beautiful, and the children are so proud.

Parashat Korach teaches us about the different roles people are assigned.  Kohanim, Levi’im and Yisraelim each fulfill their own special tasks, and all of them are important.  The discussion led to the different jobs children and parents have and how crucial it is that each fulfill the specific role designated for him or her.

On Wednesday, June 16, weather permitting, we will be having a water play day!  Please send your child to school with a hat and a bathing suit under his or her clothes, and a towel and underwear in a bag.  Sunscreen should be applied at home and sent along with your child for reapplication.

Please also remember the End of Year Show next Friday, June 18th at 9:45.  On this day children should dress in white shirts and blue pants /skirts.

Shabbat Shalom,

Morah Esther, Morah Debbie, Morah Malka, Miss Anshula
